Our work includes custom client portals, Realtor platforms, LMS systems, automation, and backend integrations that support real business workflows.

We are looking for a Freelance Backend Developer who can take ownership of backend architecture and help us scale and maintain platforms built on Laravel and Moodle, with a strong understanding of real estate–driven use cases.

Role Overview

As a Freelance Backend Developer, you will work closely with Humanverse’s product, frontend, and operations teams to build, enhance, and maintain backend systems powering our Realtor Portal, client dashboards, and learning platforms.

This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, comfortable working independently, and understands how backend decisions impact real users such as REALTORS®, brokerages, and administrators.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Laravel
• Customize, extend, and integrate Moodle LMS with Laravel-based platforms
• Build and maintain secure APIs and data integrations between systems
• Work on role-based access, permissions, and workflows for:
  • REALTORS®
  • Admins
  • Brokers / Office Staff
• Support backend logic for:
  • Profile management systems
  • Content access & approvals
  • LMS courses, enrollments, and reporting
• Optimize database performance and backend scalability
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices
• Collaborate with frontend developers to support UI requirements
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues
• Participate in system architecture discussions and improvements
• Document backend logic and technical decisions clearly
  

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with Laravel (custom development, APIs, queues, jobs)
• Hands-on experience with Moodle:
  • Plugin customization
  • User roles & permissions
  • Course and enrollment logic
• Solid understanding of MySQL / relational databases
• Experience building secure, scalable backend systems
• Ability to work independently as a freelance contractor
• Clear written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating Laravel ↔ Moodle via APIs or SSO
• Knowledge of:
  • WordPress (headless or CMS integration)
  • CRM or portal-based systems
  • LMS reporting and analytics
• Experience with cloud hosting (AWS, DigitalOcean, etc.)
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows and deployment pipelines

Real Estate Experience (Highly Preferred)

• Experience working with real estate brokerages or REALTOR® platforms
• Familiarity with:
  • REALTOR® profiles and compliance-driven workflows
  • Admin approval systems
  • MLS-style data structures or integrations (even if indirect)
• Understanding of how brokerages operate (roles, offices, teams, listings)
